Island - an arctic adventure with Nicky Singer and Chris Riddell

July 31, 2016, 3pm - approx 1 hour

Nancy Knowles Lecture Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, London, Bankside, SE1 9DT

Island is about a boy, a girl, an ice-bear and keeping the Arctic frozen. Originally commissioned as a play for the National Theatre, how did it come to be a novel illustrated by the Children’s Laureate? Writer Nicky Singer and illustrator Chris Riddell discuss melting ice-graves, chance encounters and nuannapoq – the extravagant pleasure of being alive. Meanwhile, beware of the bears as Nicky reads and Chris draws live... All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
