i love julia donaldson books because they are jam-packed fun
In our opinion we think the magic paintbrush could DOMINATE the gruffalo.
you have done a great job on the gruffalo you have 49%
How old are you?
I love reading The Gruffalo to my class of six year olds...we all love it!
My boys, aged 4 and 2.5 love all of the Julia Donaldson books, but our favourite at the moment is "what the ladybird heard" closely followed by "Zog" and "Stickman". My boys just love the detail in what the ladybird heard - they scrutinize the pictures on the inside front and back cover, which show the farm before and after the robbery, and also the robbers map goes down well. Best of all though is that they join in the dialogue so I pause from my reading and let them say "the cow went moo" etc and "the ladybird said never a word". They just love it. They love Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler so much that they ran into the library chanting "we want superworm" and were very disappointed that it is not in yet - we have had to reserve it. We have also dropped a few hints to Santa! Fingers crossed!!!
Our favourite is The Smartest Giant in Town
A very firm family favourite!
I have been a Julia Donaldson fan ever since I picked up a copy of Room on a Broom when I was visiting London. I have all of her books and most of her Sunbirds. I am 82 and ever since I retired many years ago I have been a volunteer teacher at an inner city school in San Francisco. I read her books to my kids in school. Last year we had a Gruffalo party in my first grade. I write to Julia frequently through her publishers and she has sent me lovely letters back which I read to my kids. How I wish I could just hop over to one of her visits. I would rather see her in person rather than any start! Maybe I should start praying for that to happen. She used to be, many years ago, a busker at Pier 39 here in San Francisco.
